JAKARTA, Indonesia (May 21, 2013) Adm. Dr. Marsetio, the Naval Staff

opening ceremonies of Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training
(CARAT) exercise Indonesia 2013. More than 1,000 Sailors and Marines
are participating in Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT)
Indonesia 2013. U.S. Navy ships participating in the exercise include
the USNS Safeguard (T-ARS 50) with embarked Mobile Diving and Salvage
Unit (MDSU) 1, amphibious dock landing ship USS Tortuga (LSD 46), and
the guided missile destroyer USS Momsen (DDG 92). CARAT is a series
of bilateral military exercises between the U.S. Navy and the armed
forces of Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the

TNI AL dan US NAVY Gelar Latma CARAT 2013
21 Mei 2013, Jakarta: Latihan bersama TNI AL dan Angkatan Laut Amerika Serikat bertajuk Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) 2013 pada 21-28 Mei 2013 melibatkan 5.000 personel.
"Kami mengerahkan empat kapal perang, helikopter. Sementara Amerika Serikat mengerahkan tiga kapal perangnya, sehingga diharapkan ada teknik-teknik baru dalam mengatasi teror di laut," kata Kepala Staf TNI AL, Laksamana TNI Marsetio, di Jakarta, Selasa.
CARAT 2013 dibuka secara resmi dalam satu upacara di Markas Komando Armada Indonesia Kawasan Barat TNI AL. Segenap pimpinan TNI AL hadir, sementara Amerika Serikat diwakili Wakil Duta Besar Amerika Serikat untuk Indonesia, Kristen F Bauer.
