Iran starts massive "Velayat-4" Air defense drills

This morning Iran has started the massive "Velayat-4" Air defense drills, IRNA reported.

The drills are taking place in 8 provinces of Iran - - North Khorasan, Khorasan Razavi, South Khorasan, Sistan & Baluchestan, Kerman, Hormozgan, Yazd and Fars.

Last week, the Commander of Khatam Al-Anbiya base Farzad Esmaili said that the drills would be supervised by the Khatam Al-Anbiya base, while Iranian army, IRGC and Basij forces would jointly participate.

F-4, F-5, F-7, F-14, SU-24,Mig-29 fighter jets, as well as reconnaissance aircrafts are being showcased at the "Velayat 4" drills.

Iran is also showcasing and testing out country's radar systems, missiles, artillery and electronic suveillance systems at the drills.

Iran has previously held "Velayat 3" drills in 2011, where an array of of fighter jets, fighter bombers, cargo and transportation planes, including F-4, F-5, SU-24 fighter-bombers, Mig-29 and the logistic C-130 planes were showcased.
